Northern Thunder Deliver Quality Training
During the half term break Northern Thunder in the community ran 2 netball training / fun camps, one in Oldham, Greater Manchester and the other one in Warrington, Cheshire. Over 90 girls from the age of 10 to 15 took part in the camps. All the girls took away with them a Northern Thunder netball and a commemorative t-shirt .
Paul Shacklady from the Capricorn netball club in Merseyside wrote “ Thanks for the 2 day camp both my daughters Sally and Elle thoroughly enjoyed it and are already looking forward to the next one in February 2009.”
This is a great opportunity for young players to receive top quality coaching at the same time as enjoying themselves and also keeping active during the school holidays.
Thunder the Bear enjoyed meeting all the players and hopes these will be Thunder fans for life and who knows some of them may even be future Superleague players.

The girls had some expert coaching from Thunder head coach Mike Greenwood who was assisted by two of the Thunder players. One or two of the clubs, who’s players took part in the camps club coaches stayed for the duration of the camps to take notes to pass back to their respective clubs.
