Hawkins Heaps Praise on Thunder

Sue Hawkins the England National Coach spoke in glowing terms last night after a great display by Northern Thunder. Although Thunder lost the fiercely competitive game by 17 goals 39-56 they managed to hold England to 1 goal in the first quarter and win the third quarter 14-12.

Asked for her thoughts about the performance Sue said “ Thunder have improved dramatically since I watched them in the Surrey Storm game” the England coach continued “ Thunder played  with far more determination, strength and speed and I am excited about this talented young Thunder team.”

Asked if any of the young players caught her eye, Sue said “ I think the young goal attack Kathryn Turner was exceptional and since the last time I saw her she has really stepped up to the mark.

England now have a training camp before the International Test Series against Australia which runs from the 19th-23rd February.

If you would like to get behind England including Thunder’s Jade Clarke and Sara Bayman at this very exciting time for them you can find out more at the England Netball Website.
