Wow! What can I say? Friday was a real mixture of emotions.

There was, of course, the utter despair at losing by a solitary goal to Mavericks but then there was the pride of being supported by the best fans in the league.

Many teams have said this season that they have the best fans in Superleague but I can wholeheartedly say that they are wrong. NORTHERN THUNDER HAVE THE BEST FANS.

The whole team was amazed and astounded by your fervent support on Friday in such a momentous game for the franchise.  Every goal, rebound, deflection and intercept was met by a chorus of cheers and applause (and woop woops!) that I have never heard at a netball match before. Every bad decision (and let’s face it there was a few) was roundly booed, again something I have never heard. You were brilliant, you have been all season and I, on behalf of the Northern Thunder squad, would like to thank you for your continued support. I think we showed you what your support meant to us when we applauded you at the end of the game.

We hope that you can all make it back for our first game next season, because we will be back stronger than ever.

Who has the best fans in the league? That’s easy. WE DO!
