Northern Thunder were victorious in a fantastic local derby yesterday. Thunder won the first quarter by 14- 6 and it looked as if it was going to be plain sailing from then on. But Leeds coach Anna Newall who had selected herself could not watch from the bench any longer and introduced herself at the quarter break.. Leeds were strongest in the second quarter levelling  the score  21 all at the half time break.

Thunder coach Mike Greenwood introduced tall shooter Krista Enziano at half time and moved Charlotte Beenham to goal attack.

Thunders centre court who turned the ball at will, could  not manage to supply the right ball in to Enziano and Thunder  trailed at the 3/4 break by 32 - 31.

At 3/4 time Rachel Henry was reintroduced and the Thunder centre court continued to turn ball but the difference in this quarter was that they started to supply Enziano with quality ball who in turn started to slot the shots.

Final Score 39-45 and 2 points in the bag for a hard fought Thunder victory.
